A Typical Fishing
Day:
Meet the boat at the Homer Harbor
at 7:00 a.m. The trip to the fishing ground varies with the type of
fish you are going after, but generally takes about an hour's ride.
It is not uncommon to see whales, otters, seals and other wildlife
on the ride out. The scenery is awesome, to say the least.
As Alaskan weather is subject to
change, it is a good idea to layer up with warm clothes and rain
gear, along with rubber boots. Small boat bags are a good idea, as
you can carry your camera, extra clothes, and such. In the Gulf
waters, you can expect some groundswells (this surging is usually
what gives people a queasy feeling. If you do have a tendency to
get sick, start your treatment the night before. (Dramamine,
patches, etc.)
Soft drinks, water, snacks, and
lunch, will be provided on the boat. All fishing gear is top of the
line, and provided for you. We have electric reels available, but
if you feel the need for some real exercise, we also have
hand-crank reels onboard. Most often you can expect to be cranking
fish up from 100 to 400 feet.
On the day trips, your fish are
filleted and ready to be vacuum packed. Your captain can advise you
about places that pack them and ship them. You should be back at
the docks between 4:00 or 5:00 p.m.
We only take 6 people at a time on
the boats, so if there are 6 people in your party, you will have
the whole boat. If not, we will fill the boat with other people,
unless you want to book the whole boat for your group. That way,
the captain can customize the trip for your group.
We want this to be the best
fishing experience of your life, and we will do all that we can to
make it that.

time, depending on your flight arrival. If it is too late for the
7:00 a.m. time, we will pick you up at the airport and provide you
with lodging until the next day. Once you are on the boat that will
be your home for the next several days. We only take 6 people at a
time. If your group is smaller than 6 people, we will fill the boat

The nights will be spent in
secluded coves where you can fish all night, if you'd like. The
days will be spent going to some of the most spectacular fishing
areas in the Gulf of Alaska. Your wish will be our command.
Rain gear and rubber boots are a
good idea, as the weather in Alaska is subject to change. Duffel
bags with your gear are best, as they are easy to stow. All tackle,
bait, and equipment are provided. Your fish will be filleted,
vacuum packed, frozen, and ready for shipping.
You will be returned to the harbor
on the day of your departure and delivered to the airport, or
lodging will be available, if necessary, until your flight. We want
your vacation to be worry-free.
Day Trips
Day trips are specifically halibut
or salmon. For an additional charge, Ling Cod, Rockfish, or Shark
may be added. Both boats can handle 6 clients in comfort. If you
have less than 6 in your group, we will fill the boat to reach our
minimum. You may book the whole boat for your party, regardless of
the amount of people. This is the way to go if you do not want to
fish with strangers and would like your trip to be customized for
your group.
